Moments Captured

Southern California usually is 80 degrees and sunny,
even if the weather predicts otherwise.
I wish it rained most of the year.
Rain gives me an excuse to wear more layers than is necessary.
Rainy days are my favorite.

I love to sit and watch puddles of rain fill up the potholes and gutters of the streets.
I think there is nothing better than to stand in the pouring rain and get drenched.
Last week it rained almost all day here in California.
So I thought, what better than to go out and take pictures in the pouring rain.
Usually I would go for a melancholy shot of rain in the empty street.
But instead, I began to notice the detail of rain drops everywhere.

Here's one of my favorites that I took last week.
If you aren't a lover of rain like I am, I hope this picture can change your mind!

Summer 2011. My first Mahjong Game in Tengchong, Yunnan, China.

Competition. Games. Strategy.
These are things on which I thrive.
Put me in a game where I can find a way to beat everyone else and I forget anything else going on.

Mahjong is a traditional Chinese game.
You may have heard "mahjong" before or played a game on your computer to match tiles together.   Well this Mahjong, is not that Mahjong.

"Pung"..."Kong"..."Chow"..."MAHJONG!!!"
These words may appear to be onomatopoeias.
These words make my heart beat faster.
These words make my head turn.
These words bring me closer to winning!
